Sex after colposcopy painful

Hello ladies, I have an issue and I am hoping that someone maybe someone has had a similar experience and can help me out.
I have had 2 colposcopies as of June 2012, going in for another one in January unfortunately, and both have not required a biopsy as the gyn said it just looks like an hpv infection that will clear up on its own.
However, the second colposcopy felt painful to me as she moved instruments around and such and since then, when I have sex, my cervix is sometimes very sensitive and its almost like a stabbing feeling. I was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem after a colposcopy with no biopsy? I know that probably sounds weird, I dont know what to do.

I have never experienced this after a Colposcopy and I've had several. Although a slightly uncomfortable procedure, I haven't felt any pain. She may have been too rough. I'd see another gyn and let that doc check me out instead.

I felt pain during and after my colposcopy. Having sex was also painful. This discomfort lasted quite a while. I would address the issue with your doctor. Or seek a second opinion on the pain and diagnosis.

Go for a second opinion ASAP! Don't waste any time. Not to scare anyone, but I was misdiagnosed even with the colposcopy in May of 2010. Listen to your body. If you are having pain or spotting go to a different OBGYN to confirm diagnosis of the first tests, just be sure. I hate to see anyone go through what I have over the past two years. Don't go to planned parenthood for a colposcopy!

I know exactly how you feel! I had my first colpo and i waited two wks to have sex and i was fine during sex but after my second colpo i only waited 6 days and it felt like he was stabbing me when we had sex it was pretty painful. On my second colpo i think i just was not all the way healed so even though my dr said 5 days i will always wait at least two wks to let my body heal. This just happened this wknd and i told my husband one more wk and we will try again. Hopefully it will go back to normal. You are not alone girl!
