I am currently 23 years old and found my first traces of precancerous cells when I was 18 years old. At 18 it was the abnormal paps, irregular bleeding and lots of pain that came whenever it felt and instantly. I became pregnant in March of 2004 and the doctors that I was seeing (at this time), said things like this go away on there own and told me I didn't have anything serious to worry about because I was so young. Beside the PreC cells that were found I also had large cysts on or around each tube near my ovaries. Note: they told me pregnancy chances were slim because of this. Because I was so young and they said it wasn't a horrible thing, I brushed it off, wen t through the pregnancy and everything went fine. I have my regular post-preg. check ups and because I was still seeing the same Physician, these issues never got looked into further. When my son was 9 months old
I got the Mirena implant and with that started the pains again. Along with the accurance of another abnormal - now moderate pap. I had a colp. done last summer, 2007, not sooner because I didnt have health insurance. Several Biopsies were taken, again I lost coverage and until now I was unable to get it check out. My NEW doctor said that the test results (which I never got or had time to check up on) said I was in CIN II and it should not have been ignored. I have another Colp and more biopsies tomorrow and am getting worried. I have a son, thank God, but I would be crushed if I couldn't expand with my new family. Just a little worried and ever so amazed with the health system. My doctor now shows concern which is unsettling, yet nice considering he shows care. I'm judst having a hard time gripping the fact that this is one of a few different things going wrong with my body. The doctors say my body is 'aged'. Nice. Did I mention I'm 23??

Banana

Dear angela:

I am sorry that you are going through this but remember that there are many treatments to remove dysplasia. just be strong and i will pray for you.

Dear banana, how are you keeping? I hope you are doing well.

Your so sweet Taylor.

I am doing ok, I am over the depression part of my POST LEEP and the results of my unclear margin.

I am now dedicated to me and keeping me healthy. I did manage to quit smoking. I am on day 3, and I am doing good I hope it continues.

Thanks for caring. :)

hello, angela. i'm sorry to hear you're dealing with dysplasia, and i hope the colposcopy and biopsies don't reveal anything unexpected. it's good to hear that you're getting the care and attention you need and deserve. and there are treatments for dysplasia that will maintain your options for future pregnancies, and you should be sure to make your doctor aware that you would like to have more children.

also, you may want to find out the results of your hpv test. you'll want to do everything you can to clear both the hpv and the dysplasia so that you can go forward with better cervical health. i would encourage you to eat well, exercise, get plenty of sleep, practice yoga/meditation, reduce stress....all things to help strengthen your immune system.

and hopefully the doctors will also determine why youre having bleeding and pain. if it started when you had the iud placed, perhaps that's the cause, and it needs to be removed.

good luck tomorrow, and let us know how it goes. hopefully it won't take too long to get your biopsy results.

way to go, banana, on quitting smoking. 3 days and counting. you can do it! in addition to your improved health, think of what you can do with the money you're not spending on cigarettes! :)

Hi Angela,

Sorry to hear you are dealing with dysplasia. Try not to panic - CIN II and III are very treatable and if a leep procedure is ordered, 95% of the time it takes care of the problem.

Hang in there, but come back often, we're all here to help and support you!
