hi all...i had my total hysterectomy last Nov 2006..
i have my boyfriend abroad.. i have my last intercourse last 2008..he always teasing me to use a toy so that my vaginal won't close..is it true? is there any possibility that my cervix or vaginal will close if i'm not able to touch or use it?

No, your vagina will not close. If your ovaries were removed at the time of your hysterectomy, you may be on hormones - estrogen - which keeps the vaginal tissue from thinning and can help w/dryness. Even if the ovaries are retained (kept), there can still be early ovarian failure, but I think you would have noticed symptoms such as vaginal dryness, possibly hot flashes, etc, by now. Estrace is a creme that's used vaginally to help keep the vaginal tissue healthy and doesn't have the systemic absorption like topical lotions/patches or pills - something you could discuss with your doctor if you begin to have symptoms or are concerned about vaginal tissue.

I had a partial Hysterectomy in Jan 1985 due to Cervical cancer and when they removed my cervix with my hysterectomy but left my ovaries and went on premarine a year or 2 later and had been on it a long time then I went to another Dr and started Biodentical hormone creams, estrodoyl and just started on biodentical testosterone and have never had any problems with my vagina. I had not had any relations for many years untill now and not having any problems. I was started on Testosterone 6 months ago and it is fionally binging back some sensations that dissapeared and my boyfriend has been really great and I have feeling now that I never had even before the Hysterectomy.
