Hello all,

I have just been diagnosed with CIN1 and i am interested to see if anyone has used a particular diet and successfully culled the abnormality. i would love to hear from any one and every one please let me know if it wsa successful or it created more problems. also i am sure that exercise would have to come in at some point aswell so if any one has any advise please contact me!
i have been told to go back in 6 months for another pap, i really want to try and get this out of my system and keep it that way!

other questions i have are things like what does it do for your sex lives>? before and after the operation. i read that it was linking to HPV which is a STI but my doc told me to not worry about it, that i could continue having sex as i do. I thought this may threaten the health of my partner!

any other feed back would be appreciated too!!

thanks in advance!!!
:)

Frankly, I am pissed at the medical community with dr. acting like this is not a big deal. My dr. did not direct me to tell me partner that I had this disease b/c they all feel that since men rarely exhibit the symptoms, what's the point? Well, my logic for telling my recent ex AND my previous ex (who gave me HPV) was so they could be more careful, and STOP SPREADING the disease!!! I understand that it's not my ex's fault since he did not know he had this, but now that he does, he needs to act responsibly.

It will be a year in Nov. since I've last had sex. I want this virus to clear my system before i start any new relationships. Frankly, I'm scared to have sex again since I don't want to get sick again. Conversely, I'm worried that I may not find anyone who'll put up w/ me and this virus, and that I'll never have a family and die alone...probably an extreme...I know...it's harder to heal the psychological scars of this disease.

I'm also working EXTRA hard on getting my immune system up. I've always had a low immune system as a child and abusing antibiotics over the years had shot my system down to low levels.

I am doing ALL I can think of to increase it. My dr. told me to eat broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, take a multi-vit (w/ A-E), turmeric, and reservatol. I've always taken vitamins but I've added to it my taking an immune system vit. as well as chinese herbal supplements from my acunpuncturist. (I'm also sleeping w/ a tampon soaked in a chinese herbal solution.) I've been eating broccoli EVERY day for 3 mo. now and brussel sprouts occasionally (both are horrible for the belly bloat:( Also, I've incorporated turmeric spice in some meals and try to drink white wine at least once a week. I drink smoothies all day: berrries rich in antioxidants, a green one w/ broccoli/spirulina, and a probiotic. I'm exercising again, walking/jogging 2-3 times wk for 30-60 min. and also doing pilates on off days. Besides acupuncture, I've also done Reiki therapy and had several massages.

I feel good and had a great period last time. I go back to the dr. on Sep. 23. SInce I did not want surgery again (cone biopsy was proposed this time around) he is going to do an ECC & Endometrial biopsy. Hopefully, I'll have kicked this vile disease to the curb!

The ONLY thing that I'm still struggling with is STRESS. Not only has this whole process been worrisome, anxious and depressing, but I was laid off from work in Nov. (same time my ex broke up w/ me!) so I've been dealing with a LOT of emotions and now I'm worried about the mounting medical bills and losing my home if I don't find a job SOON.

Hi 2Lindz - did they tell you if you have high risk hpv? You mention "operation" - are you going for a colposcopy (a high powered magnifier so they can see the cervix better)? Are they going to do a biopsy? Or are you just waiting for another 6 months for a PAP? I also have CIN1 but because I also have high risk HPV and am postmenopausal, I did the colposcopy and biopsy to confirm (still the same). I think exercise IS important as well as eating healthy. There are some folks who can answer your question better about certain ways to eat to boost your immune system. Most of the time our bodies clear the dysplasia on its on but boosting your immune system would be great! As far as your question on sex and your partner, I believe if from what I've read/learned that either of you could have had the virus for a long time (it can stay dormant for many, many years - as in my case). If couples both learn as much as they can about HPV, talk about it openly, they can come to a decision together on how to prevent the virus from being passed back and forth (many others on this site will have great info for you --- I'm not the best one to give you a specific recommendation as I haven't been in a relationship for 8 years! Actually learning I have this virus has made me question how I'll handle any possible future relationships - I also do not want to infect anyone (or get re-infected) - I've read that condoms can cut down on the possibility, but they aren't full-proof anyway because it's passed skin-to-skin and condoms don't cover the whole area. Let us know if you use a natural route and how it works for you!

thankyou both very much for the feed back, yesterday i grabbed a pack of multi v-man's and have started using them, i am full on already with my exercise and i already have a healthy diet so hopefull y that will help me to blast it in the arse!!!

as for the 'Operation' bit i was only reading some of the ones (like loop lletz) that are done, i havent been reccomended as such this time round, im going to have another PAP in 6 months and he (Dr) said if its the same then they will take the correct measures.

i am not sure if i have HPV is this a given when you have CIN? because i dont use condoms with my partner and i sure as hell dont want to pass nething on to him! especially if we decide to part our ways!! i asked my Doctor if i should steer away from sex and he said no but (i know i didnt ask the question) he didnt say nething like so long as your using condoms etc. perhaps i shall go back to him!!!

Meliza4 i am really sorry to hear that your out of a job :( i hope you come accross something soon even if it is just a super market job!!

thankyou both very much for your replys, i'll let you know how i go!!! and you should do so for me too :)

Hi Linda,

I think this thread already contains the info that you're looking for:

thankyou!! AnnieGally!

2LINDZ - please let us know what happens after your app't which is about the same time I go for my 6-month check-up (I also had CIN1 and HR HPV). Usually (and I stress the usually just from what I've read) if you have an abnormal pap, you probably have some sort of HPV --- maybe they can test for that next time you go in. They did for me because I'm much older and they're doing it automatically for women over 30 and if they have abnormal paps.

I'd be interested to know what (if anything) they'll do if you still have CIN1. It's my understanding they don't do LEEPS or other procedures unless it's a higher dysplasia - so keep us posted.

I, too, am going to try other things for the immune system. I'm very healthy for the most part but right around the time all of this was happening I had my usual blood work done and saw that my white blood count was one "number" before the lowest range - so I know something is/was going on with the immune system (probably the HPV!). I ordered some Papillex and will try it.

I agree with Meliza4 --- docs are so "flippant" about this virus that it is spreading so rapidly - but if you were already in the same relationship prior to getting diagnosed, he probably already has some form also --- it's recommend to use condoms so other strains don't get passed back and forth (but condoms aren't 100% anyway although they do reduce the risk somewhat). It's all such a dilemma!

Meliza4 - let us know how your app't turns out!

Hey Meliza4

i shall definatly let you know how i go, i'm a little anxious to just get it over and done with!!
