I have HPY and Endo and recently had my tubes tied after the birth of my 2nd child. I am considering a hysterectomy due to the pain from the endo and the scare of cancer from HPV. What do you think?

Definitely don't have a hysterectomy based on fear of cancer from HPV! HPV can be handled with much less invasive procedures that are actually quite effective in preventing cervical cancer. I'm not familiar with treatments for endo, though, so that's a whole separate issue...

What does your doctor recommend? I just had a hysterectomy and it's MAJOR surgery. I was out of work for six weeks and I know that honestly, I went back too soon. There is major pain involved, although I had an abdominal hysterectomy and I hear they're a bit worse. I'm still suffering from ongoing conplications of the surgery (UTI). A hysterectomy can affect your other organs as well because they can be inadvertently damaged during surgery, and a certain amount of "settling" occurs when you remove the uterus, and the other organs are left behind. Don't take this matter lightly...but that's just my opinion...good luck whatever you decide, M
