My name is Rene and im 20. I just had a D&C and LEEP done 7 days ago, and now im nervous because I have been taking baths and I went to an amusment park 3 days after the LEEP. I haven't had any bleeding I just have had like a light redish yellowish discharge. I just want to know should I be worried about that, and I also want to know does sex feel the same after a LEEP I mean like after like 2 or 3 months does it feel the same. Can someone please help me!

Be careful, honey. Don't take any more baths. Just because you haven't started bleeding yet, that doesn't mean it won't start if the scabs that are trying to heal come off too soon. (This is what happened to me.) Sex will feel the same after you're healed, but give yourself plenty of time to heal. Just follow your doctor's guidelines since she knows more about your particular situation...hugs, M

hi, rene. you should know that by taking baths, you're increasing the chance of developing an infection, and, ongoing, i would encourage you to follow your doctor's post op directions and avoid baths for a while until you're healed. signs of infection include fever as well as foul smelling discharge. it's normal to have some discharge after a leep (i'm not as familiar with D&C procedure) and it can change in color and consistency while you're healing. while you're healing, i would also encourage you to learn more about your gyn health - for instance a leep would be for removal of the cervical dysplasia (caused by hpv), but the d&c is for uterine issues, so i hope you understand why that was being done along with the leep. and, going forward, continue to learn about hpv, along with other stds, and ways in which to protect yourself and keep yourself healthy. although it only takes one partner to get hpv, having multiple partners, particularly without condoms, increases your chances of getting stds, including multiple strains of hpv (some can potentially cause dysplasia/cancer and some can potentially cause warts) as well as other stds which can also have long lasting impact. and, healthy behaviors, including no smoking and using condoms, also help your body clear the hpv infection. let us know how you're doing!

Hey you guys. I just started bleeding today, is that supposed to be happening? Its not heavy but im bleeding. Should i call my doctor?

some bleeding is normal. did the doctor provide you with a written sheet of paper on what to expect after the surgery, what to do and what not to do, etc.? if not, call their office so you can get the post surgery instruction sheet! and, of course, if you ever think that something is wrong, don't hesitate to call the doctor - you know your own body best!

Yes my doctor gave me the "After Care Sheet". I just read it, and it said that a bloody drainage was normal. It also said that it might last 2 to 4 weeks.

I had the D&C procedure done, because my doctor wanted to make sure that wasnt spreading and i get my results back from that today.
