I just found out about my colcosopy results!!!!

Wow. My doctors nurse called me today with the results from my colcosopy. She said that she was shocked and wondered why the doctor made such a big deal about my biopsy. He told me I had Cervical Cancer..without even getting the biopsies tested fully first. So of course I was crying and worried. I finally got the results today. Completely clean! So does this mean that I DON'T have cervical Cancer? I forgot to ask. I was just so excited that it came back with nothing. I would like someone to let me know! THanks

it sounds like you need to speak with your doctor and also get a copy of all your test results! did the pap indicate cancer and then the colposcopy biopsies were normal? perhaps there was a major miscommunication/misunderstanding between you and the doctor? i sure hope you get find out as soon as possible what's going on with your health! let us know how you're doing!!!

Hi Amanda,
Glad to hear you don't have CC, but definitely, talk to your doctor and try to get a copy of your results.

I would highly recommend getting a pap smear and colposcopy again (even if your doctor says no) because the 2 results shouldn't conflict. If one says 'yes' and the other 'no' then one of them is wrong. And you are not the one to know. the doctor and nurse will only know. You definitely need to tell them you have two conflicting results and if they know what they are doing they should repeat the tests for you. Get both done again within the next 6 - 12 months even if it is suggested you can wait up to 3 years. I have read (I'm not a doctor) that some tests get false positives, meaning an incorrect result. I'm sure you will be fine though. If you are young and only CIN 1 it will probably go away. But keep getting paps for life.

I recommend getting a new Dr. I'm very happy for your results but what kind of Dr puts that kind of fear into someone without even really knowing??? That's awful! I would honestly get your records and find a new Dr.

I just realized this was quite awhile ago :) How did everything go??
