I had my follow up pap smear after my LEEP back in the Spring today. The Dr. said there was evidence of something abnormal, but not to worry that it may just be a bacterial infection and so is starting me on a vaginal antibiotic. I am still concerned since I am not really sure what this all means and so I am writing here to see if anyone else has experienced anything similar to this and if so, what does it all mean?

i would encourage you to find out specifically what your pap test resut s indicated....and whether they ran an hpv test. and, you may want to ask for a copy of your previous results too, so that you'll see what the leep indicated, whether margins were clear, and so forth. your doctor should be providing you with more complete info, and not leaving you wondering what's going on - ask him/her for more specifics. it's your own body, and you're your own best health advocate - and you can only do that with full knowledge.
