Had my cold knife cone yesterday

0 Recommendations

Went in at 6:15 am and was home by noon. I guess the procedure wasn't too bad, but I really have had heavy heavy bleeding since then. It was running down my leg at the hospital, but they said I was OK.

Had some pain yesterday, but was mostly out of it from the anesthesia. Today I'm having some awful cramps that the Vicoden isn't touching. And I seem to be having trouble urinating - should I be concerned??? I have a check up on Thursday hopefully the lab results ill be in. He said he had to remove a large lesion, and I do have stitches.

I was terrified and still am worried about the results. My husband and mother in law have been wonderful and helping me with everything and were there through the whole diagnosis and surgery, Thank God for them.

I did take a bath, though not supposed to, I just had dried blood everywhere and needed to get cleaned up.

Anybody else have trouble peeing???

Surgery Pain

Hi KLynn-- I think heavier bleeding is expected with a cold knife cone. My doctor also took a large area of the cervix. After my cone/leep I didn't bleed at all for the first week or 10 days. After that I had some bleeding, though, and now more than threemonths post procedure, I am still spotting. Very frustrating.
As for trouble urinating, I would definitely call the doctor if it continues. I imagine there could be some swelling or irritation from the surgery, but would discuss it with the doctor anyhow. Good luck!.
