gettin rid of hpv

so i have high risk hpv i had a colposcopy last week, when he saw my cervix my doctor was almost surprised at how normal my cervix was.. ? but he took 4 biopsys of the cervix, and im still waitin for the results (fingers crossed)...my question is im hoping everything is normal but assuming my boyfriend and i are both infected with hpv, how r we suppose 2 get rid of it if we both have it? will it just go away in both of us or am i just gonna have it forever especially if the both of us are still having sex with eachother? am i suppose 2 use condoms with him until it goes away ?? so confused.....
i hope someone can help!

Hi Svan,
Such great questions! HPV IS a virus, and many times with a healthy immune system, one can overcome the virus by onesself without any medical intervention. This is why many Drs do paps every three months or so, so they can monitor the situation and see if it goes away on it's own without having to subject the patient to unnecessary nips and snips.

There are a few excellent websites in addition to this one, that address HPV specifically and I think can answer many of your questions about HPV and more. If you are interested, try www.hpv.com, www.thehpvtest.com and www.gardasil.com All three of those sites are extremely comprehensive and may help you answer most of your questions in a very short amount of time.
