Finally got a copy of my pap smear results!!

0 Recommendations

Ok i had posted on here a couple of weeks ago after i got a abnormal test result and got some really good feedback. My boyfriends mom requested a copy of my test results (she works at a dr's office) and i was appalled. I was told my test came out inconclusive for hpv but as im looking at my results it says negetive for high rish hpv. They read my results out wrong!! But then i look at my diagnosis and got confused and im hoping someone can break it down to me in lamens term. OK this is exaclty what it says:
Epithelial cell abnormality
Atypical Squamous cells of undetermined significance.
Satisfactory for evaluation. Endocervical metaplastic cells are present.
Anyone know what exactly this means? LIke i said earlier all my paps have been abnormal but it wasnt until i got this pap along with all my other health isues that i started to worry! I have no insurance and my clinic wont do a follow-up until next september at my yearly pap.

Sorry I can't offer any advice or help! But I do want to say I wish you the best and if you have symptoms or problems fimd a way to another dr.

first of all, sounds like your doctor's office may have broken your hipaa privacy laws!

secondly, ASCUS is one of the possible abnormal pap test results, and usually the doctor will then run an hpv test with an ASCUS result. have you had any other tests done to determine why you're consistently having ASCUS results? inflammation can be due to other infections, for instance. sounds like you need follow up....sooner than a year from now.

stopcancernow: How about a HPV test you can do in the privacy of your own home and not have to go into the docs office for the test?!!?!?!

stopcancernow: How about HPV Point-of-care testing in Docs office so you can get HPV result while in the office?? We have the technology to do that now.

stopcancernow: It is good to be careful not to over test young adults (under 21). So so many positives that amount to nothing and women over tested!!

stopcancernow: What needs to be added to ACOG guidelines??? HPV Testing. HPV Testing. HPV Testing!!!!!!!!!!!!

stopcancernow: What needs to be added to ACOG guidelines? Add Pap test AND HPV test for women age 30 and over. It should be in there!!!
