Emotionally exhausted...

0 Recommendations

I just had a cold knife cone biopsy done. It's been about a month. I had a very difficult time recovering. I was very tired and experienced 2 weeks of bleeding. Now I am feeling irritated, having hot flashes, extremely exhausted and sleeping hard. My moods are all over the place. I also felt some depression during my recovery. Anybody out there experiencing similar emotional and behavioral issues????? Would love your feedback.

Hi Leslie. (I'm from your side of the state!). I definitely felt what you are describing, and it lasted quite a while. Part of it (I think) was that I stopped taking birth control pills after my diagnosis and my hormones and emotions were a mess. I ended up starting a low dosage of antidepressants, which have helped somewhat. I definitely don't feel as much like a crazy person as I did for a while ;) Sometimes I wonder if somehow I couldn't be in perimenopause as a result of all of this (2 cones for me), but I'm sure that is just the paranoia that comes with a cancer diagnosis and then wondering what else can go wrong.

Also, any surgery is a trauma and shock to your system, so that can effect us in many ways that we many not realize.

Hi Leslie111

4 weeks ago I also did CKC for AIS so I can totally understand what you feel and expereince.

Yes,at most 2 weeks I was bleeding and it was so painful for the starting 3 days. I even just want to cut off my uterus at those days. while now I am ok without any symptom. While when you have your first menstruate after the surgery you might feel cramp for 2-3 days.

for 4 weeks I just have rest and most of time I lie low and donot have any bath or douching althgough it is difficulty for me not have any bath.

If you feel still any pain you should ask your your doctor really. It is very important to let your doc what is going on so they could measure that to give your advice.

Also I suggest you should eat a lot of fruit and vegetable.such as apple and Chinese goosebeery and carrot.

Hope you will be better soon and let us know your update.
