This past August my pap smear came back abnormal, then had a colposcopy, then recently had two Leeps (9/23..biopsy came back "severe dyplasia")...2nd Leep was done on 10/14...waiting to get results on 10/21.
Has anyone had cramping after their Leep procedures? Had cramping after 1st one for over a week, and this past one, I'm still having cramping. Is this normal?
I had really bad cramping the 1st day after my LEEP but it went away after that. I am guessing everyone is different though and it probably depends on how much tissue they had to remove. I took 600 mg of ibuprofin (if you do this, make sure you eat food first to avoid an upset stomach) and it helped. Feel better!
Erin. I'm feeling much better today. I get my results for my 2nd Leep this upcoming Wednesday 10/21. As usual I'm scared...but from what my docter is saying is that I will most likely need a hysterectomy. Thanks for your support.
Erin: What was your prognosis after your LEEP procedure?
I was diagnosed with carcinoma in situ (cervical cancer stage 0) after the LEEP. The margins were clear, so it had not spread. I will be going back in 4 months for another colposcopy, although I wish I could go back tomorrow just to make sure they got it all. So scary!
