CIN III and CIS...

0 Recommendations

just today i went in for my 2nd colpo, and the dr said it looks as though it may have progressed from cin II to cin III (since june). ive been doing a lot of reading online (i dont know if thats a good or bad idea), and ive read a lot that cin III and cis are about the same thing. im confused, does that mean that i have severe dysplasia or first form of cancer?
she said she wont know anything till she gets the results from the biopsy, but can a leep make me infertile? im only 23 and i dont want this to ruin my chances of having children.
any advice or other options i may have that she is not informing me of?!

**ps...im super scared too :(

hello.

i am 20 and just had a leep about 3 weeks ago. you will almost positively be able to have kids. the thing is... if you have CIN 3 which i did as well you have to have the cells removed. we are so young that our bodies have plenty of time to bounce back. they only remove a small layer. just get the procedure done if you need too and be done with this. it was the worst summer of my life, but now i dont even think about it anymore. i know what you are going through it isnt fair it happens to people at such a young age.. but it does. i will pray for you but just follow your doctors orders and get it done asap. i went to the hospital to get my LEEP and if you doctor does that i HIGHLY recommend it. you are put completely under and you wake up feelin great.. being awake would scare me personally. if you need any other advice let me know

oh and CIN 3 is NOT cancer... it is very abnormal cervical cells. it is the step before cancer can progress which is why its really important to get them removed.

dear gail don't be scared. i also had cin3 and had the leep procedure done twice. my doctor told me everything seems ok. i am waiting for my appt. for next pap next month. keeping my finger cross. hope everything is good. this site is very good. u will get a lot of great news.

Dear Gail,

You have all the rights to be scared but there are treatments for dysplasia which prevent from regressing to invasive cancer. Yes CIS (Carcinoma in-situ) is cancer but only attached to the skin but in some studies they put it under CINlll category. I was diagnosed with CINlll and CIS back in december 2007 and had a cold knife cone biopsy to remove them.

Also, I decided to see a gyn/oncologist instead of a gynocologist because cancer is their specialty and i do recommend you to see a gyn/oncologist.

by the way, i know many women who had a Leep procedure done in the past and got pregnant afterwards. You are young and chances of your healing is much higher.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope all goes well with your Leep. Bless you .

I also had conazation surgery done about 4 years ago,,, you can still have children even with loop... it can make it harder on your body ,, but you can still have children,,,I'll be praying for you....i know its hard not to worry I do enough of it myself,,, but you will be ok

thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. it is very unfair that so many of us younger women have to go through this. but i dont feel as scared and alone anymore, knowing so many of you have been there as well.
