Cin I after 2nd Leep in 2 months

0 Recommendations

I had my 1st leep done over a month ago, after a colposcopy that said i had cin 1-cin 2. The results of that leep came back with cin 3 somehow. He scheduled me for another leep which i had 2 weeks ago. I got the results today and it was back to cin 1. I asked the doctor if i need to get another leep done and he said he doesnt know yet. He gave me a prescription for some cream and told me to come back in 3 weeks for a pap. I just dont know what to do or think anymore. The last 2 -3 months of my life have been insane. In 27, unmarried and definitly want to have kids in the near future.

Part of me is thinking if its cin 1, it can go away on its own. Right? Ive changed my lifestyle, i take vitamins, i quit smoking, im eating more vegetables. It went away once on its own, less than a year ago..so it can happen again. However, then i think how did i go from a cin 1, to a cin 3, back to a cin 1 in only 2 months...

Someone please advise.... I just want this to go away...

Pregnancy Folic acid

I am so sorry you are frustrated. Dysplasia tends to have that effect on us. Maybe you should get a copy of your records. When you say you go from CIN I to II to III, I am wondering if that is what has been REMOVED with your leep or if that is what is left in your margins. It makes a big difference. If you don't feel comfortable with what you are being told (or not being told) then you might want to take your records to another doctor for a second opinion.

It is true that mild dysplasia can be reversed. That's why some people are on a "wait and watch" list. I have never heard of CIN III or CIS reversing though. I think its just the abnormal cells from CIN I and II that can be rescued. Rest and folic acid go a long way! You are doing great starting on a healthy lifestyle.

Good luck with your treatment and please keep us posted!

I am shocked your dr did a LEEP so quick after the first one. Did you have unclear margins at all?

I am a post leep with unclear margins CIN II and III and I am waiting 6 months to heal completely so they can get a good sample read. I know that none of my drs would say I need to be the leep again so quick.

Do you have a copy of your test and biopsys?

You should seek a 2nd opinion.

i'm surprised that you had a second leep so soon after the first one too.i assume the margins were not clear the first time. what about the second leep? and you're having a pap only 5 or 6 weeks or so after a leep? from what i understand, the cervix needs to heal much longer than that to get an accurate pap test result. if nothing else, it will show an abnormal result because of the inflammation.

did the doctor counsel you about the impact this second leep would have upon future pregnancies? it certainly depends on how much cervical tissue is removed, but this is an important discussion to have with the doctor.

and, i would highly recommend you be under the care of a gynecologic oncologist - they're the experts with gyn cancers and dysplasia, and your regular gyn is just fine for the first time you've had dysplasia, but if it's recurring or persistent, you want the specialist!

and, yes, for many (most) women, cin1 will clear on its own. i think it's great that you're making efforts to get healthier.

Well he said my margins were not clear after the first one. He said since it came back Cin 2-3, he wanted to do another LEEP to get rid of it. He did not mention healing time at all. When i asked him how these leeps would affect pregnancy in the future, he said it wont be a big issue cause they did not remove that much tissue. I have come to the realization that i need a 2nd opinion. I might as well go somewhere else after i get the results from the pap that i have in 3 weeks. There is no point in getting the pap done somewhere else either, or is there?

And interesting enough, he also told me that i can have sex next week and at that time it will be 3 weeks after the 2nd leep. He checked me out this past weekend and said im healing well. Im not complaining but if i havent healed, id rather wait.

so your doctor wants you to wait 6 months before he checks again? and you have cin 2-3?

I had a cone in april and my margins were unclear. My pap in Sept. said low grade. I had a colpo in the 8th of this month, the results came back CIN I. The doc suggested I wait 6 months till the next pap. Thought I'd add something
