ita, did you just have a pap and hpv test? pap test results in the united states are reported via a system called the bethesda system, and may be either ASCUS or LGSIL (low grade dysplasia) or HGSIL (high grade dysplasia) and so forth....here's a website with more details:
http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/detection/Pap-test
did you have an hpv test done? if so, the hpv test would indicate if you have an active hpv infection and whether its from high risk and/or low risk hpv strains. more info is available at www.thehpvtest.com
When a cervical biopsy is done, results might indicate CINI (CIN1) or CINII (CIN2) or CIN111 (CIN3) and so forth. maybe the pathologist indicate CIN1/2 meaning that there was both CIN1 and CIN2? CIN means that there is dysplasia. ASCUS is from the pap which, literally, means that the abnormal cells are of "undetermined significance." if you had an ASCUS pap along with a positive hpv test result, then the next step, following standard guidelines, would be to have a colposcopy.
i hope this helps....if you have additional questions or want/need support, please don't hesitate to ask. meanwhile, learn more about hpv and ways to help your body clear the active hpv infection.
Dear Flower:
Yes they did a hpv test done, after my pap ASCUS. after that a colposcopy and a biopsy.. She told me not to worried and come back in 6 m.. if they still there she will do a leep... I did not ask much .. everything was so fast.. I feeling good that she move so fast.. but do i still can get cancer.. right?
Flower... I forget to Thank you! did not know where to go with this..
hello, again. i'm glad you found this community and that my info was helpful. dysplasia may or may not develop into cancer, and it's unlikely for CIN1 (mild dysplasia) to progress to cancer, but it's necessary, of course, to keep an eye on it. you may want to look into ways to help your body clear the active hpv infection because the longer the hpv infection is active, the higher the risk for dysplasia/cancer development. you may want to take DIM supplements or eat more cruciferous vegetables which contain DIM as there are studies that have shown DIM helps to clear hpv. Other things to consider would be avoiding vaginal infection/inflammation (avoiding tampons as well as products in/at your vagina, including detergents and soaps, that have fragrances and dyes), using condoms to avoid re-infection and increased viral load, getting plenty of sleep, reducing stress, and getting/keeping yourself as healthy as possible. let us know how you're doing!
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God bless YOU!
