Cervical Cancer Fashion Show a SUCCESS!!

2 Recommendations

Today, Friday June 5th was the Step Up Cervical Cancer Fashion show at the world-famous Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, Ca. Along with top fashion models, some of our National Cervical Cancer Coalition (NCCC) members in California went for dress fittings and joined the runway parade showing off the latest fashions and walking the runway.

PJ did a fantastic job as a model on the runway as did ALL our NCCC members at the show!! The bond and connection between the NCCC members at this Star- studded event was amazing!

Over 300 women were at this Step Up event with the NCCC women being featured as the amazing survivors they are.

While the event was a smashing success, we were all missing our fellow NCCC member and friend, Nicole who was unable to make the event. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nicole and her family, including her husband and wonderful young children. Are prayers and thoughts are for Nicole to feel better. We are hopeful for her.

would love it if you posted some pictures!

great! hope lots of money was raised! :) (and, who is nicole?)

For those at last years NCCC conference, they will remember our NCCC member, Nicole, who was at the meeting with her mom and her four young children too. She is battling a late stage cervical cancer.

The funds raised at the fashion show were for STEP UP.org not NCCC. The NCCC provided our great NCCC members as Fashion models to help highlight survivorship and issues related to cervical cancer and HPV prevention and detection.

Pictures will be posted in the monthly NCCC electronic newsletter you all most likely recieve in your email in box every month. We will ask Cindy to post some pictures her to on INSPIRE!

Thanks for inviting me to participate - it was a blast!! It really was a great way to spread awareness and reach a new audience.

OH...and Alan...there were more than 700 women in attendance, including Hollywood stars, people like Marcia Cross, Lisa Ling, Larry King,Tori Spelling, Aisha Taylor, Laura Zalaznick, Diane Nyad, Lacey Chabert.

Designer Liz Lange was also there and she shared her personal story about her battle with cervical cancer. It was great to finally have someone well-known speak out and what a great person to do it too! She is awesome and is doing a lot to increase awareness, even working with Merck to get the message out. You can check out her site at allaboutcervicalcancer.org!!!

Anyway, it was great to meet Alicia, Kim, Suzie, Jane, and Joscelyn and have a chance to meet these women and bond. They are awesome people and couldn't wish for a better group of women to cruise the catwalk with. I am sorry Nicole couldn't be there, but she was there in spirit, at least in my heart!!

Thanks again to the NCCC, as well as Ali and the Merck team for making it happen. I can't wait to see the completed video from the event, featuring interviews with us "models" (I use that word loosely when describing myself-very), as well as footage from the event. Together, we can eradicate HPV, even if it is one person at a time!

xoxoxo,

PJ - a.k.a. Patti
