I was wondering if anyone could help me with this dilemia. I have recurrent cervical cancer..so they will not put me on estrogen. Afraid it will cause another cancer. any suggestions for herbal/natural meds that might help. I am EXTREMELY tired all the time along with major concerntration issues...side effects of really low estrogen levels. I am having a real hard time dealing with this. Thanks

One of the oncologists I have seen says soy is full of phyto estrogens. I used soy for hot flashes when I had my breast cancer removed and was taken off hrt. If worked for me. But, I have had other oncologists tell me "no soy". I can only tell you what worked for me.

Hi ...
I found a lot of info for maca root. Im going to start taking it and it has no phyto estrogens in it , instead it balances hormones. I think you should try it and it has no side effects.

I also have recurrent cerv ca. They didn't have any problem putting me on the meds though. Wonder why. I refused to take them. I take a variety of chinese herbals, as well as acupuncture every two weeks. Helps balance my hormones, increase energy and concentration. I also do yoga (I get horrible hot flashes). Try and reduce your stress as much as possible. Doesn't work for everyone, but worth a shot. I completely understand how you feel, and know how frustrating it is.

Talk to a naturopath, they can help with what to take, combinations etc. I have also heard things about maca root, it's worth checking into.

Good luck. I hope you find something that works well for you :)

sr5er,
Although I am not a cancer patient I recently was taken off of HRT. Due to a recent diagnosis of vaginal atrophy and complications of HPV and herpes. I am 61 I was also suffering from low energy and depression with severe hot flashes. An herbalist suggested a product by Biotics Research Corp. It is called: Nephra-Zyme. The energy is somewhat better, depression is intermittent and the hot flashes have decreased impressively.
Talk to a trusted professional to insure this would be of no harm and of some help for you. I hope in some way that this will work for you and I send you healing hugs.

stopcancernow: How about a HPV test you can do in the privacy of your own home and not have to go into the docs office for the test?!!?!?!

stopcancernow: How about HPV Point-of-care testing in Docs office so you can get HPV result while in the office?? We have the technology to do that now.

stopcancernow: It is good to be careful not to over test young adults (under 21). So so many positives that amount to nothing and women over tested!!

stopcancernow: What needs to be added to ACOG guidelines??? HPV Testing. HPV Testing. HPV Testing!!!!!!!!!!!!

stopcancernow: What needs to be added to ACOG guidelines? Add Pap test AND HPV test for women age 30 and over. It should be in there!!!
