Bleeding when went for Smear..

0 Recommendations

Hi all,
I was just hoping that someone out there may be able to throw some light on this subject....I have being having smears done for the last few years and they were all coming back inconclusive so last year my new female Dr said if it came back inconclusive she would send me to a Gyno but thankfully everything was alright....I had some spotting last year before and after my periods was more a brownish colour...my Dr said I obviously had an infection and gave me some antibiotics which helped clear it all up....so for the last year things have being good....in the last few months my periods have being a bit strange coming late only staying for a day etc....so today when I went for my smear the Dr told me that I was bleeding heavily now she is sending me to the gyno...I am supposed to be getting myself ready to do Gondotrophin Stimulation as I am eager for a baby...I haven't started any hormone treatments or that yet...I am really worried about it all.....I am terrified of what it may be...does anyone think it may be Cancer or that??? Oh and while I am here again maybe I'm stupid but what is HPV???? I am finding that it's a virus of some sort....I am so sorry for going on and posting such a long post but I don't know what else to do.....my partner is telling me to stay calm and not worry but it's easy for him to say that he doesn't have any of these problems....
I appreciate any replies to this post....

gonnie, i'm not understanding why you would have pap smears that are 'inconclusive'.....were they repeated to get conclusive pap smear results? it sounds like you need to be sure you're in good health before you go forward with pregnancy, so, hopefully you'll be able to get whatever infections you have cleared up, and get a good pap test as well. my understanding is that in the u.k, the doctors don't do hpv testing. as far as what is hpv...well, keep reading here, and at the nccc-online.org and elsewhere so you can learn about this very common virus which usually has no impact on a woman, because most women will clear the virus on their own, but is the causative agent of cervical cancers, and can also cause other hpv related cancers (oral, anal, vaginal, etc.). keep reading and learning....knowledge is power.

and, as you know, bleeding at times other than during your period is not a normal thing....so it's good to see that you're getting checked out. let us know how you're doing!
