Another LEEP after repeated re-paps?

0 Recommendations

Hello!
I had my first colposcopy last September and my first LEEP in January.
Since then, both of my re-paps have come back still showing mild dysplasia.
I'm going back for my second colposcopy in August.

I guess my question is two-fold:

First, what are the chances that another LEEP will follow this? Do doctors just let mild dysplasia sit and hope that it will go away? Is it possible for it to disappear on its own? (I'm 21, so I know/hope that I have youth on my side as far as being able to get rid of it.) How realistic are the chances that another LEEP will fix this for good?

Secondly, how many LEEPs can you realistically have before you can't have children? I really want to be a mother someday, and I don't want to lose that ability by slowly losing my cervix.

Thanks in advance!

isee33, as your doctors told you, most women will clear mild dysplasia on their own, and you have your younger age as an advantage. think of your current mode as a watch and wait, not doing 'nothing', but rather carefully monitoring the situation. hopefully the doctors have done hpv testing? if not, ask them to do so...hopefully there's no longer an active hpv infection and that will be a plus. and while you're in your waiting mode, do whatever you can to help your body clear the active hpv infection and the dysplasia without medical treatment. as to how many leeps ....it really depends upon how much of your cervix is being removed each time....whether they do a standard leep, whether it's a conization, etc. Hope that helps!

Just the other day I was told if I need to have a 2nd LEEP proceedure, that becoming pregnant will be more of a risk. From what I understand, they would need to stitch the cervix to keep the baby "in" (for lack of better words).
