Anal Cancer Awareness

0 Recommendations

Hi Everyone--

I just wanted to say that I find it quite encouraging to see all the discussion on this forum regarding anal cancer. It is great that people are talking more about it and trying to get educated. I feel that Farrah's Story has had a large impact on this. This cancer will continue to grow in numbers and needs more attention than it currently gets, but this is a good start to increasing awareness. My hope is that that will lead to more research, earlier detection, and better treatment options. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to these discussions--let's keep talking about it, as knowledge is power!

Martha, You are a wonderful person. I wish you nothing but the best.
Anal cancer and all cancers need to be addressed and cured.
Amy

Hi Amy--

Thanks so much for your kind remarks and for all of your support. I always enjoy hearing from you and discussing our lives--both the good and the not so good. I really feel that talking about cancer--ANY type of cancer--can only be a good thing. The more people are talking and learning, the better for everyone. It's unfortunate that sometimes it takes a celebrity's illness to get people's attention, but I guess we humans all need those type of wake-up calls occasionally.

I purchased a book titled "Beating Cancer with Nutrition" yesterday and have started reading it. If all the things this writer says are true, then I will be changing my eating habits drastically, including a LOT more vegetables (at least as much as my damaged GI system can take!). There is a big emphasis on cutting sugar out of the diet--that one will be tough! If anyone reads this post who is familiar with this book, please let me know if you have implemented any of the recommendations and what results you've had.

Thanks again, Amy, for your kind comments. I have made it my mission to make sure the word gets out about anal cancer--thanks for listening! Take care.
