Here's a link to the website for the International Papillomavirus conference to be held in Quebec, Canada, July 3rd thru July 8th, 2010. It's mostly geared to researchers, clinicians and public health officials and is highly technical -- but will include all the latest reasearch/knowledge on the HPV virus, HPV testing, vaccination data, etc. I attended the conference last year in May, which was a little overwhelming, but I learned a lot!
Fees are significantly cheaper if you register by March 15, 2010 and are also much cheaper if you're a student.
There's a jazz festival in Quebec at the same time, so if you'd like to go, plan early. And if you're at all interested, but don't know if this is for you, feel free to send me an e-mail and I can give you more information about what the experience was like for me for the one in 2009.
My takeaway, was that it was a great event, but missing the patient voice and I think it would be great, as a start, if more women could attend who've had personal experience with HPV, so that we could better understand (and then perhaps influence) this community that's driving research and protocols.
