I am posting this because my doctors have not really been able to put their fingers on why I have had increased liver values. The surgeon that did my gastric pacer thought my liver values would get better after my surgery. I had the pacer placed and my gallbladder taken out.
I just had a battery of blood work ran for reasons other than my GP, but the only abnormality's were all gastro.
My BUN was 4 which normal is 9-21...that has been chronically low for some reason?
AST 506 normal is 0-40
ALT 545 normal is 30-65
ALK PHOSPHATASE 172 normal is 30-100
The previous two times that I have recently had my blood checked was in April and May of this year and the same levels were elevated but only in the high 100's. I didn't continue with the follow up's because I am such a hard stick that it is just torture to have my blood drawn.
I know that we are not MD's but we all have been through so much...I thought I would ask if anyone had any insight.
And, yes I do have an appointment with my gastro next week. But I don't have much faith--especially since he doesn't really want to see me since I have had my pacer placed. And I am still waiting to see if I will be approved for a doctor who is closer to where I live to monitor my pacer.
