Hi faraway,I also have TD and It's not easy to live with. Each day is a challenge, not to let it keep me from living my life. It's hard not knowing if it will ever go away,There is a lot of information on the net,yet little support for people with it.We move.org,is a pretty good site, people don't post about td very offen, but there is info on it,and also in the older posts.
I have had it for a year,it started with my mouth biting my lip.The doctor knew I had it,but didn't stop my medication,Resparidol.By the time my sister had her change it,it was too late. My head was bobbing, and I was never told what this was, until I did research on it.My nerve Dr could only give me flexarall, and adivan, which helps some.
I asked on we move, how people deal with having TD,but got a little response. Most people don't want to talk about it,thats what I'm seeing, and if you got it from being deppressed or having problems like that, people tend to ignore that.To me it don't matter which drug, caused it,the results are the same.
Each day,I get up and its there, and I do the things that need to be done, like cleaning, taking care of my grandchild.Doing research on TD,and looking for other things to take the focus off the movements.
ON a bad day,I cry and it seems like more then I can take. But I tell myself,it could be worse and to get on with my day.
Its hard to live with, but it helps to have a family that loves me.Its also good to be able to talk with people who are going through the same thing.I hope this helps you and others who are going through the same thing.

Do you think that it was caused by Respiradol? My son who is 4 yr, is autistic and they want to put him on this since it has shown improvement in autistic behaviors. But I'm scared of it causing a permanent side effect. I myself, have developed a movement disorder called myoclonus, after taking Reglan.

Hi, I think it might have, though so many medications have side effects, I don't know for sure. It seemed after taking it the TD started,so maybe it did,or maybe it was long term effect from others taken over the years. I wish you luck, and hope your child gets better. I would try and find out all I could, what does the doctor say, though they don't know a lot of the times either, what side effects might come.Just watch carefully,Hope that helps.
