Hello-I was diagnosed in Sept with 3b nonsmall cell adenocarcinoma. I was told at the time I could not have surgery because it was in a supraclavicular node as well as mediastinal nodes. After four rounds of chemo all my nodes are 0 and my tumor on the PET scan went from 8 to 1.5-I am told they do not worry about tumors under 3. Anyway I told my oncologist I would like surgery to remove the RUL where the tumor was, it is 2x3 cm. He still refuses. Should I get a 2nd opinion? Does anyone know why he is refusing this. I am on a study chemo pill-I hope this is not the reason. Thanks
