The song is called "Red Rubber Ball' The line that resonates is "I bought my ticket with my tears that's all I have to spend. I think I'm gonna be alright. Yes, the worst is over now. The morning sun is shining like a red rubber ball." Don't quote me because I often am wrong and my husband will patiently correct me with "that is NOT what they are saying" when I sing along.

DAISEY,

How about a nice daiseyrita right about now? Then you can lead the song. Maybe the sopranos can come is on the high note and of course and of course the bare-a-tones can come in for the low. Show time kids lets do it:-)

Favorite song " Fleetwood Mac- You make loving fun"

Marie, I am glad you are getting more spring in your step. Being tired all the time was never any fun for me either.

I especially remember those last two weeks of radiation and tiredness. For my last day of it, I burned a CD that just long enough for the session, which included Born to Run and Thunder Road. It was a little mood music for stopping in at the pub on the way home.

Music is a great companion. On the web, I have set up a good number of personal radio stations on Pandora. Although I have set up separate ones set up for what I like in reggae, Garth Brooks type Country, classic rock, blues and folk, I usually head to my version of New Age Celtic for its peacefulness. Viva Enya and Loreena McKennitt! Plus, I don't need ear plugs when my dear lady is present.

Stay awake, strong and active!

Dwayne

Marie. Congrats on getting a bit of energy! I hope it continues to get better as the Ritalin develops a blood level.

I'm on day 13 of Tarceva trial and so far just rash on nose, upper lip, chin and neck. No "Big D". No other symptoms other that being tired. Guess I'm blessed!

Richard

Marie. From reading up, some drugs require a longer time (days or even weeks) to build a therapeutic level in the blood stream. Some drugs require only one doses. I'm not a doctor, so I don't know the particulars. I take Lexapro which takes days to build a therapeutic level. I also take Ativan which is almost immediate.

Hope this helps and anyone who knows more about this, chime in.

Richard

Hi every one I finally found you. I don't know how I missed the new forum but I did for some reason. I have so many favorite songs. I love music from the 60s and 70s and mostly the upbeat ones. So right now I can't think of one song in particular. Oh I thought of one I really love its called: I'm Every Woman.......I love both versions sung by Chaka Khan and Whitney Houston. I cannot sit still when I hear that song. It has just a great beat to it.

Thank you all for saying you will keep me in your prayers for my scan tomorrow. I have no clue how much a chest x-ray is going to show but whatever it shows I hope its good. I just have so much scar tissue that I think the radiologist becomes very concerned and then writes it up in such a way that even my onc has to have it check by a radiologist from the hospital. That is what happened the last time when I had a cat scan. She never reads the results to me she just tells me what the results are in lay terms. What happened the last time is that the last bought of radiation I had back in February caused more scar tissue so my onc said no more radiation for me. I worry because if the Tarceva isn't working what comes next. I hope they have something. Well just knowing you all have me in your prayers makes me feel good. I will certainly let you know the results when I get them. Hugs, Fran

Oh Marie I am so glad the new meds you are on is helping your fatigue because I know you have been battling fatigue for a long time. Now don't over do it.

Thank you Richard;-)

Hi Marie,

I am starting to loose a lot of hair. :( Even when I had chemo I didn't loose all my hair. It just thinned out a lot but now I am starting to loose it. I have been on Tarceva for 3 months now. Do some and not others loose their hair? Does it come back? Also the hair on my face is darker and my eyebrows are more coarse.

Hi mexlox.....

Welcome! When these side effect creep up on us it is a bit of a joggling act. Tarceva Divas and Dudes has not become bald here. That does not mean you won't. It means you probably won't. My fingers are crossed for you. Hairs growning in unusual places is very common.
Depending on your choice you can leave it be or use a very gentle hair remover product from your drug store. Sometimes it happens on the skin in a place we can pluck or shave. Eye brows can take a on a life of their own. Once again you pluck and thin or let it be. I want to refer you to goggle to see our 2 lists TARCEVA SIDE EFFECT BUSTERS 1 & 2. It includes products the Divas and Dudes have suggested. We wish you wellon your journey and know we are here for you.

Marie

Mexloc,
If my memory serves me well I remember some saying that they did lose some hair or their hair was thinning from taking Tarceva. I was completely balc when I started taking Tarceva but my hair is growing back and its curly (just like some folks said it might do). My hair was completley straight as you can see on my picture.
It also looks like I don't have as much grey but I still have enough. I never had thin eye brows but they are a little thicker. I just pluck the real long ones and tame the brows so they lay nicely. Now The Tarceva is really affecting my eyelashes. I get quite a few ingrown and I told my eye dr. that if I can see them I pluck them but he doesn't want me to do that any more. So I just have to go and see him if I get some that bother my eyes. I have some hair growing on two spots of my face that I hate and I don't like using chemicals to remove it so I shave it and it helps. But I am all Italian so I am a hairy person anyway like on my arms which they are not affected yet.

Now I've noticed that my two thumb nails have tiny ridges in them and feel brittle. I have no clue what to do about that. So I just keep adding Eucerin to my hands. I think all Tarceva users are affected differently with some things. I think the constant for most of us is the rash and diarrhea. My rash is controlled with clindymicin antibiotic gel for my face. The Big "D" I use Imodium and coconut macaroons. And follow the B-R-A-T diet. I live off of rice and bananas some days.

Well that is my experience on Tarceva. I hope some of the things I do will help you. Hugs, Fran

Thanks Marie and Fran.

That is reassuring. Guess I had better get out the tweezers and start working on the beard and mustache. :{)

When thinking of a tune "I've got a a brand new pair of roller skates, you've got a brand new key" came to mind right away....not sure why:) maybe cause LC is such a crazy ride! My neice will meet with her Onc on Wednesday about her scan from last week, I am thinking it can't be bad news or they would have called her in already right?........it is getting cooler here so,I hope they decide how they will deal with her swollen feet and ankles....diuretic apparently not so effective! I am wondering why they haven't suggested compression stockings! Her face is even more moonie than last week!
Still having that tune in my head...... Lalalala........

Fran,

Thank you for guiding me to this page. Hope you had a peaceful procedure. God bless

Hi cfish......

Thank you for that catchy tune! Now I will hum it all day!!

Sorry your niece is having a rough scary time. Compression stockings are very helpful. Good idea to ask Doctor. My experience when the doctor calls me in has been not the best news. However, it also means how to plan the protocol for the necessary follow up treatments. He may also need bloods to see where we are @ that very moment or schedule an x-ray or scan. Our cancer is lethal. Right now the best defense for any of us is to stay on top of it.....and nip that sucker in the bud. We are all blessed to have today's technology ans hard working doctors. You and your sister will be in my prayers. Let me know how all went. Keep strong
auntie. We are with you.

Marie

Hi all Tarceva Divas and Dudes,

Fran, hope your scan goes well today. Keep fighting you know u can.

Marie, great that the Ritalin helps with your energy levels.

I am so so happy after 6 months I no longer have a red face. The cream I mentioned last time is marvelous. My hair is thinning out a lot. My face and neck have dark fine hairs on then so I get it all waxed off! My eyebrows are disappearing but the eyelashes are thick long and lush. All my body hair is breaking off and has no roots if u pull it out.

AND I am planning a holiday to Dubai, London and Italy to see my family. Doc has given the ok, Enricoforex has encouraged me, so I am planning for late October. Woot woot it's been too long.

Hugs to all
Linda x

PS my song is "it's a lovely day today, and whatever you've got to do, you've got a lovely day to do it in that's true"

PPS. I have no hair up my nose and sneeze all the time...anyone else have this?

Linda!!
I am so very excited for your wonderful holiday! It will be a well deserved breather for you. Can't wait to hear about it.
You have dealt so well with all the curve balls Tarceva has pitched @ you, Well done Girl. We are so grateful that you shared so much with us. And continue to help us through. You introduced me to CLINDAMYACIN. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! It continues to help my Tarceva hands. You are a true INSPIRATION. GIGANTIC HUGGGGZZZZZ. I am sure you will hang out with us before your escape.
