Burzynski

My girl friends mother was just diagnosed with adinocainoma, stage IIA. He Dr was able to surgically remove the tumor and she just started chemo. We are all hoping for the best. I was wondering if anyone has heard of Burzynski and the Burzynski Clinic and Antineoplastons and if this is an effective treatment.
Thanks.

rgr,

Just send the money to Nigeria instead to get them home from being stranded on the space station for the past 10 years!

Google his name and the word quack to learn why you will get lots of negative comments here.

I think if all else fails and you have brain tumors that are not operable or gamma knifeable than it should be a consideration until than i would stick with traditional/integreated methods. Best sean

Hi,
Wanted to let yu know I'm an eight yr. 5 mo. survivor of 2a nonsmall cell lung cancer. Good luck to your girl friend's mother.

Watch this video.

Like him or hate him, the man has had considerable success curing cancer, especially of the brain. I too have read bad reviews of him but I also watched a video where he removed cancer from a young girl who died from traditional treatments. The FDA spent over 20 million tax payers money trying to close him down and lost every case. There are plenty of movies on You Tube on him including a short one on the police officer whose child he treated.

"Ronsdad" is at it again. Fred Eichhorn is creator of Cellect and president of the "non-profit": "National Cancer Research Foundation LTD". THis "non-profit" corp is actually just a conduit for directing people to the "for profit" Cellect business for purchase from, guess who? Yup. The websites are nearly identical as is the mailing address with the following distinction: NCRF is P.O. Box 131 and Cellect is P.O. Box 132. It accepts donations, but does not meet BBB standards or website disclosures for charity accountability. He cites 90% cure rates and discourages use of chemothereapy or other conventional cancer treatments. Another disgusting aspect of this kind of operation is that it is diverting charitable contributions from legitimate organizations that really are fighting cancer. The name is suspiciously nearly identical to legitimate organizations such as the National Cancer Research Foundation (not "LTD) and the National Foundation for Cancer Research, which was co-founded in 1973 by Nobel Prize Laureate Dr. Albert Szent-Györgyi (discoverer of Vitamin C) and lawyer and entrepreneur Franklin Salisbury, Sr.- a world-renowned organization supporting nearly 50 laboratories that have helped make possible many cancer treatments that are saving lives today, including research tools & technologies, cancer biomarkers, cancer related genes & proteins, clinical trials, and even 3 cancer preventative measures. Dietary nutrients, drug compounds, and a cancer risk prediction model were developed and evaluated for their potential to prevent lung, pancreatic, and other cancers (reality check for conspiracy theorists!).

Again, ronsdad ONLY posts have been directed at promoting Cellect!!!! I dare you to respond to me ronsdad!!! You continue to endanger the lives of Inspire warriors and I question your true relationship to Cellect.

Thats the one Chris. The bugger eh ? What I think would be great is if there was a reputable no strings attached independent research organization / facility preferably in the US but perhaps someplace else if the FDA doesn't co-operate that we could channel tax deductible research money to or that could get grants to do real research on alternative protocols and supplements including clinical trials . A facility that would provide truthful reports we could trust . One that sold nothing and had no ties with companies or individuals who have a different agenda. Perhaps ties with research facilities in Universities would be ok. A facility where people such as the makers of Cellect could have their products clinically tested so we could trust them.
Just a thought.
Here is a video from the founder of American Anti-Cancer Institute. I've searched the substance but the sites all go back to him. I'd be interested in some thoughts.

Y,

Please provide the irrefutable evidence he's "cured" anything?
Therein lies "the rub", despite 20-30 years using his "methods", he has refused to cooperate and provide clear data.
PLUS, ya gotta have very DEEP pockets. "Build a better mousetrap and people will beat a path to your door"...just bring wheelbarrows full of $$!
These two issues cast a shadow over his sincerity for me.

G

Which one are you referring to. Cellect or American Anti Cancer Institute ?

Y,

Don't know what you're talking about pal. Kindly clarify.

If that isn't working, don't put faith into false-hope snake oil promotional claims.

Always start by seeking real medical treatment with proven odds of working. (It's worked great for me so far.)

There are some experimental things that look promising, but you really need to check the actual research to see how far along they are. Most promising things in the lab don't succeed in actual people, so they are probably a waste of time and money until there's a credible randomized controlled clinical trial with some data showing it is effective. If you hear claims that something is effective against cancer but it's not proven with credible research in people, don't put any faith in it.

Best hopes,

I'm not sure how my posting got so complicated. First, I wasn't supporting anything. I mearly confirmed with Christine that he was back again promoting cellect. Yes, I've tried cellect 2 1/2 years ago and have read what the ingredients are but chose to go off it after one container. I also agree that he has a vested interest in his posting.
Yes, I would like also to see more quantitative evidence on alternative treatments/ protocols. You love chemicals, I don't but I don't disrespect you any more for your beliefs.
The main point I was trying to make was to review the You Tube video and provide your thoughts.
I don't know if you did that or not.
I did go to your link and I agree with much of what she has to say, but not all. Thats my perogative. I also know that my cancer centre doesn't have anyone even close to an RD on staff. I asked and was told by my Oncologist, she knows nothing about nutrition. Apparently, there is a library on the top floor I could go to . I had a CT scan last Thursday. I see the Oncologist Wednesday. Maybe it will be good or maybe it will be square 1.

What notification would that be ???

There is a tax payer supported agency that conducts clinical trials of promising alternative and complimentary medicine. NCCAM, which is part of the NIH, is the Federal Government's lead agency for studying all types of CAM (complimentary & alternative medicine). As part of that role, the Center sponsors a wide array of research to see how dietary supplements might affect the body and tests their use in clinical trials. In fiscal year 2007, NCCAM supported more than 200 research projects studying dietary supplements, including herbs and botanicals.
Also within NIH, the ODS focuses specifically on dietary supplements, seeking to strengthen knowledge by supporting and evaluating research, disseminating results, and educating the public.
NCCAM and ODS collaborate to fund dietary supplement research centers focused on botanicals, known collectively as the NIH Botanical Research Centers Program. Scientists at the centers conduct basic research and other studies on botanicals and help to select products to be tested in clinical trials. The centers are advancing the scientific base of knowledge about botanicals, making it possible to better evaluate their safety and effectiveness.
NCCAM also sponsors a number of Centers of Excellence for Research on CAM, including centers studying antioxidant therapies, botanicals for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, grape-derived polyphenols for Alzheimer's disease, and botanicals for pancreatic diseases and for colorectal cancer

On average, they accept approximately 11% of applications received. They have studied substances such as shark cartilage for anti cancer properties, chemo vs. enzyme regimen, tumeric, Echinacea, celecoxb, ginko biloba, etc.

Clinical testing not only tests eficacy, but also safety i.e. dosage, interaction with other substances, etc.

The predators in the alternative health field, in contrast to its honorable proponents, are interested in making big bucks off of the misfortune and desperation of others especially so with cancer,, and NOT in keeping the kinds of records and following the necessary procedures to make an adequate record to justify clinical trials. They promise, but cannot demonstrate, high or 100% cure rates. They have even jumped on the band wagon of abusers of our non-profit corporation status with attractive misleading titles which belie the true nature/goal of its for profit founders, and have enlisted internet talent to sceew search engines to pick up their own blogs and promo sites when one attempts to search for complaints, qwack/sham references, etc. Beware.

Thanks Christine. I see it has it's critics but at least there is an organization in place. I'll spend some time on the site.
Regards

CT scan was good. She wants me to go off the alternative treatments . Says they're not required. She's no longer pushing the chemo she wanted me to go back onto 6 months ago. Was a veeery nice meeting !!

Yamalad: Hooray!!! Here's to more good scans in the future!

Chris

Thanks Christine. Muchly appreciated. I wish we could all have good scans. I note on your profile that you are still having fatigue which seems to be a trade mark of cancer as well as chemo and radiation. I had considerable fatigue while on my alternative profiles which is why the Oncologist asked me to go off them to see if it improved. I had to go off a number of supplements that weren't compatible with the protocols I was on which included vitamins such as C and E as well as selenium and CoQ10 . I also just received an email from a " friend " who has been NED for 5 years and she takes large doses of CoQ10 a day which she says helps a lot with the fatigue . If you've found something else, I'd be interested to know. Just going off the protocol has helped. That is it's only side effect. It was only supposed to last for 2 weeks but for me it was the whole time.
Regards- Eric
