Mike had an appointment with Dr Saba today to get results from a CT scan I requested last Friday. The scan results were about what we thought. The cancer is growing again. This time it is back in his lungs. So, it's chemo time again.
Mike started on Taxol today. He had Taxol before, July through September last year. Last year, after only 3 cycles of Taxol, the cancer had decreased by 70%. The doctor in Mattoon, for some reason known only to him, took Mike off this chemo. Well, we are looking at this as a blessing. Because Mike had only 3 cycles of this drug, there is a good chance that the cancer isn't resistant to it, and it will again crush this beast.
Mike will have chemo 1 day a week. He will probably have it 3 weeks on, one week off. There is a chance he could go 12 straight weeks if his blood counts stay strong, but we aren't counting on that.
