Thank you all for your kind words. You know after I had time to regroup think and most importantly sleep I decided that this was the most humbeling (sp) experience that I have ever had. I did not think that I could take care of this man in his own house till his last breath, but I did. I changed his diaper, I emptied his pee bag I sat and talked to him even after he stopped responding. I held his had and said a prayer with the hospice nurse and family friend that was there. I looked at his body before they took it from the house and said goodbye and that I loved him. I told him alot during the last couple of days that I loved him and that Dan and the kids loved him. Dan and I told him in the morning that it was ok to go and that we and the kids loved him. The most heart breaking thing tho was as he was taking his last breath his twin brother who also has cancer arrived and was trying to get into the room with his wheel chair/oxygen and missed being able to say goodbye while David was still breathing.
This site is the most amazing place that a person can go to. Even if you dont post what is going on in your life, you are able to read and know that you are not alone with this horrible disease.
Please do not think that I am going to give up coming here or fighting for lung cancer. I just have to go for little while and get the funeral planned. Since it is Thanksgiving we are going to wait until Monday for the funeral.
