Tootie completed the whole brain radiation. The radiation oncologists said the scan looked good. The treatment really wiped her out, worse than any of the chemo.
Unfortunately, while her brain was being zapped the growths in her lung/liver grew. She was given a choice of a 3rd line chemo or hospice. She picked the chemo; she is a fighter.
She is receiving taxol and topotecan once a week for 4 weeks, then she will have a 2 week break and another scan. She has the 2nd infusion tomorrow. She is home. Her short term memory is shot at the moment. She doesn't have much of an appetite, but I can usually coax/cajole her into drinking 2 or 3 ensure plus a day. She says nothing tastes right( except eggs, although today she said she was tired of those ).
This is a hard battle and she seams so weak to me. I just don't know if there will be any more good quality life for her, but as long as she wants to fight I will do what I can to help.
