So, I don't even know why I'm posting, but here is goes.

Mom has sclc dx 8 months ago now with mets to lymph, adrenal, brain and possibly liver. She has Ascites (fluid in the abdomen) scheduled to be drained saturday. She is so weak she can't sit up let alone walk. The Doc has recommended hospice 3 times now and yesterday he refused her chemo treatment. Is there still a chance? Can this be turned around? Does she just need rest to get strong to fight again?

I know this post may sound as if I'm needed encouragement to continue to support the fight for my mom, but what I really want is honesty from survivors and caregivers. Please.
