Please Help!! Cat-Scan results show no change, is this typical?

Mom has stage lllA NSCLC, went through six weeks of Chemo/Radiation treatment. I called the Doctor to get the news before I bring her in to discuss the results. He said , There has been no change...and he is thinking of what course of treatment to take. I would hope to think that no change is better than "it has spread!" He also said that maybe with the holidays coming we should wait...why? We were told she could have another four to six months of Chemo. Like so may of you, facing this is so hard and reading the many postings from frightened dear people...the
answers seem more hopeful than not. It is comforting to hear what they have experienced and that there might be hope. For Mom (a robust 82 year old), I need to give her hope. I have lost, (like many of you with multiple deaths, not that it matters, you cannot weigh the pain of lose ) loosing my Dad and sister-in-law this past year, I can't think of loosing Mom. Please....tell what your view of this Cat-Scan means.
Thank-you to All for your time and your compassion.
