Confusing Report After Surgery

0 Recommendations

The nurse practioner from the surgeons office called with mom's pathology report from her bi-lobectomy. We are all pretty confused as to what it all means....
They removed a 3.5 cm tumor, and all 12 lymph nodes biopsied showed no signs of cancer. However, there were microscopic cancer cells in the margins and pluera, and chest wall soft tissue (?) I hope I'm getting all that right. They staged her at a 2B.
She has her follow up appointment on July 23 to see what's next. She said the doctor may recommend chemo/radiation or nothing.....???

She said mom's cancer was a T3-N0-MX....there's such a lot to learn, I'm so confused. Not sure whether to be happy or concerned about all this????
Guess we'll find out more on the 23rd.
