What month is it?

The Today Show did a segment on breast cancer again this morning. I dropped them an e-mail asking what month it was and why the segment hadn't been done in October. Also told them it was Lung Cancer Awareness month and that they needed to check into that. Especially why funding was so low for research for lung cancer.

Same thing happened yesterday to my husband at Safeway. The checker asked him if he wanted to donate to Breast Cancer. He told her he had already done that, and it was now lung cancer month. She said she didn't know anything about that, but that they were collecting for breast cancer through the Nov 8th.

Thanks for the heads up l think l will email them as well and let them know that lm also fighting for my life and Nov is lung cancer awareness month so " please don't forget about us and to STAND UP to this cancer with us we are the forgotten ones"

I had the same thing happen as AliceL's husband yesterday at Safeway. I walked in and was hit with a sea of pink! During check out was asked if I wanted to contribute....answered.... and asked to speak with store manager. At first I was just going to leave it alone and suck it up and then I decided NO... it's not okay.

Had a lengthy discussion with the store manager, who told me that they (corporate Safeway) had decided to extend Breast Cancer Awareness for one more week because they were doing so well.... I held it together and got my points (and I hope yours) across. He assured me that he would go up to his office and immediately send our concerns on to corporate.

I then went home and sent an email through the Safeway corp site... (having to use the comment/suggestion link as there is no other way to email them or the Safeway Foundation).

blessings,

Sue
