Anybody heard of this Seattle based medical center?

I am still looking for extremely experienced skull base surgeons to remove my lower, deep seated cerebellum tumor and this doctors seems most qualified, but I would still like to hear from someone who knows him and the medical center. I only have a couple of weeks...

His name is Laligam N. Sekhar.

Anybody???

Thanks and God bless,
Ellen

I have never heard of him and don't know much about Harborview. Maybe Dr. West knows about him. You could ask and see. Dr. West practices in Seattle.

Hi Ellin: I dont know anything about this Dr. but I was wondering if you could phone the office of Dr. Ben Carson , head of pediatric neurosurgery at Hopkins, and ask his office for a referral. He is very famous ( google him) and might be able to give you a recommendation. I am so sorry you have to go through this. Know that you will be in my thoughts through it all...............................M.C.

Hi Don;

Actually I already tried that...Dr. West just said it was outside of his normal arena so he couldn't make a recommendation...

Thanks anyway!
Ellen

MC;

Thanks for the idea. I will do that tomorrow when offices reopen. As many cerebellum tumors occur in children, he may just know -

God bless,
Ellen

Hi, I was at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance but switched to Evergreen in Kirkland, start making phone calls and find the best. Call Dr. Eric Taylors office and see if they can help. He is awesome. He is actually a Radiation Onc., but maybe they can point you in the right direction. Google him. Good Luck,,, Von

Von;

Thanks so much for the reply...and good luck to you too!

God bless,
Ellen

Hey Ellen, I live in Shoreline, are you close by? You ever wanna talk, let me know, I am always looking for friends that can really relate with what we go through and face each day. I met some great people when I was going through my radiation, we talk often and as soon as one lady can eat solid food, we are going for it!!!!! The more the merrier. Stay Strong, we are all good listeners. Von

You are so kind, thank you. Unfortunately I live all the way across the United States in Florida...I am possibly coming to Seattle just to see one doctor who practices out of Harborview. I will know more in a few days.

We can still keep in touch and cheer each other on! You and your friend go for the gusto! :)

Blessings,
Ellen

Dear Ellen, keep me posted on how you are doing. If you need a Seattle Guide let me know, I am like 10 min from Harborview. Whats your story??? I am 49 with stage 3 NSCLC. I hade my right lower lobe removed this past feb., did chemo, radiation, and currently have post-radiation pneumonia. I have another spot on the upper part that is left, but, my lungs are so inflamed that they can't see the spot right now. When I clear up, its straight to the surgeon to have it removed. The spot I had before didn't light up on PET either, and was stage 3, 8 months later when they (Virginia Mason)finally decided to operate. They kept insisting it was infection, not cancer. I then switched to Seattle Cancer care. They found the new spot about a month ago and said "we are going to keep an eye on it" NOT!!!!! So I went to Evergreen for a second opinion,and Dr. Taylor agreed with my husband and I as to what are we waiting for, givin my history. He dosen't even want it biopsy, just removed.. My husbands aunt has been with the ACS in the bay area for 50 years and we got Dr. Taylors name from her. I feel very fortunate, and know now I am in good hands. You need to feel the same way. Please keep me posted on how you are and what you are gonna do. I Really Do Care!! God Bless, Von
