My Mom started Tarceva 4 days ago. If anyone developed the rash, could you share approximately when the rash appeared? Thank you!

To me, they come and go. They diminish and are less bothersome later on. They are manageable. My skin doctor prescribed evoclin. It helped big. But now I don't need it as often as before.

Hi:
I know everyone is different, however I started to break out about day 5 and by day 7 or 8 I had what my doctor called a grade 4 rash.
My face felt like my skin was being cooked from the inside out. My eyes were burning, and I had to constantly put soothing eye drops into them. My Oncologist had me come into the office and took me off the Tarceva for a week, then started me on evey other day. The rash would still get bad, so we tried a few different ways and I finally found a dose I could take without too much trouble.
I suppose it's a matter of the body getting used to this medicine. Hope your mom has good luck with it. It did a good job for me.

Mine started about 7-8 days after the first dose of 150 mg. Then got really bad. My onc prescribed clobetasol propionate cream usp 0.05% and that worked very well for me. I've been on tarceva for 2 years now so the rash just sort of comes and goes lightly from time to time.
It's a great drug. Tell your mom to try and stick it out if she can, even by lowering the dose and then going back up to 150. It's really worth it.
My Dad started a week ago on 25 mg for two weeks then will be increased to 50 mg for 2 weeks and so on. No side effects yet. Was anyone else started at such a low dose?

I started last Wednesday, 11/5. I woke to itching and blotches on my face. By the end of the day, I had many small pimple like blemishes on my face. Not too bad this morning.
I’m still awaiting any other side effects.
In response to tarceva question, I also have a question I have been on tarceva for 2 weeks face is really dry, i am not really itchy except on my back. My problem is that my mouth is really sore a not blisters, but my tongue and the whole inside if my mouth is red and sore. I did not see this as one of the side effects of tarceva, anyone else experience this?
