Thyroid Report with Blood Workup - HEARING AIDS is now in the picture

0 Recommendations

Okay to start today is just getting better by the minute. If you have read my journals - you will know that the Chemo effected my hearing and today it was CONFIRMED. I have hearing LOSS enough to warrant 2 hearing aids. My left ear is the worst for high treble noise in speech. I ordered a pinot colored one for my left ear - since in sailing left is port....and a lovely purple one for my right - just because. This way when I get old my husband can hopefully get the color coding right...hahahaha. I get them on October 7th...my new glasses come in on the 8th.

I picked up my reports on the thyroid issue. They read as follows: TSH Level .082 - normal range .340-5.600....that is a more than a BIT low...Free T4 Level is 1.16 - normal is .61-1.12 and my Free T3 is normal.

The thyroid ultrasound is mid to inferior pole shows a 2-3mm slightly complex cyst on the right. Normal isthmus. Left lob is normal in size with a 2-3 mm cyst with tiny septation making it mildly complex. The superior pole left thyroid contains a 5x4mm nodule.
Impression - Bilateral lesions with no significant enlargement.

I sent all of this to my oncologists office - they called back and I am having an Iodine study scan on the 2nd...if a biopsy is needed they will have a endo Dr. in their office in Seattle do it. In the meantime - they are finding me a NEW Primary Physician and will refer me. WHEW....I think I need a new one....just for sanity sake alone.

I will breathe deeply - cry when I want to cry - and TRY to move on with my life - one minute at a time....I had graduated to 3 months at a time....and am now back sliding till this issue is resolved.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL
Janet

oh Janet - you have your hands full!!!! I went through thryoid biopsies this spring - it hurt!!! however, the surgeon that did mine said that lots of people have cysts there (I have four) and they are said to rarely (<10%) be more than a nuisance. the other part of this is that you can get your thyroid surgically removed, have about 2 weeks of recovery and be back to "normal" (on pills). my mom had thyroid cancer in 1960 or 61 and is still around and thriving. so...bottom line, there is 10% of a good reason to be nervous, but take a breath, there are lots of worse things that could happen.

wishing you tons of luck and sending lots of hugs
Pat

Once again, don't panic! I had the thyroid biopsy and it was a little uncomfortable. No biggee.. just a few minutes of discomfort compared to lung cancer shit and surgery (living hell). Cry all you want..it's a good cleansing then get on with it! I had to have a uterine biopsy too! I can't keep up with all these friggin doctors!!

My sister and a nurse friend also had these and they were removed and never gave furthur problems.I hope that you are as blessed.Your lab doesn't sound like much more than low thyroid that can be treated.I am so glad you are getting another primary Physician.I was trying to make a snotty joke about drs, that fit in with Sandy's post on your last entry to try to cheer you, didn't realize I had not finished my entry and sent it. .I got called away.I am so sorry that inadvertantly,I may have seemed rude or that I didn't show concern. You are a terrific person and I am praying that this is just a part of aging.People sometimes as early as 30s-40s have a little low thyroid both my dad & sis did. Here sometimes we can forget that our bodies still have all the normal things tht mean we are not teens anymore.I do know you are much closer to your teens than But I remember.Hang in there and hope you are right back up,AndiB

Thanks everyone...I feel so exhausted these days...I went and worked a friends horse for her tonight - just to do something different.

You are right though - just because our bodies are fighting or have fought cancer - doesn't mean they aren't still aging....DRAT....

I'll have to get pics with the new ears in and see if you all can tell they are there...hahaha...kinda like finding waldo....

We all need these pep talks....tomorrow morning I am planing to wake up and get out of bed and get my day going....Thanks everyone again!!!!

GOD BLESS
Janet

((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))

Find out if your calcium level is within range. Mine is high, now will be having other tests, scans. Possible tumor on thyroid. Best of Luck,,,,Von

Hi Von,

I was researching Thyroid nodules and cysts and it appears that if the TSH levels, and T4 are abnormal - the risk of the lesions being malignant are lowered tremendously. So this is what I am hoping for. ALL of my other blood tests are in the normal range...things look great in that aspect.

How is your TSH levels?

GOD BLESS
Janet
