The Today show did an excellent job!!!!

The today show had a segment on John Atkinson and Lung Cancer. They did such a good job, I couldn't stop crying while I was watching it.

They talked about the lack of funding, stigma associated with it, how it kills 1 in 3 people, how 60% of those diagnosed never smoked or quit years ago.

Thank you Today show for a job well done.

Thanks Chum : )

I just watched it too -
BRAVO LCA!
THANK YOU, NBC!
And John, you have all our deep gratitude for sharing your story to open hearts, minds, and hopefully wallets!
Always hope,

We have already gotten several calls and emails from people who saw the spot and want to make a difference! Yay!

I was just logging in to post about it but you beat me to it! I was so excited!

I have seen more articles and tv segments in the past few months than in the past 2 years! We must be doing something right to get the word out there.

I also loved when they specifically mentioned The Lung Cancer Alliance. They said there would be a link on the NBC web site as well.

Hooray for NBC and the Today Show and of course John Atkinson!

Jodi

thanks for the link chum.

Thank you, I thought it was a wonderful job. Just with once they could not mention smoking, but it wasn't just focused on smoking and they did defend those stigma issue.

Way to Go!

Thank you for a job well done John!

I forwarded the video to everyone on my e-mail list and asked them to forward it to everyone on theirs. Hey, those annoying forwards have to start with someone : )

GREAT idea, Carol! This is the way awareness gets going!

Wow - the piece was amazing. Chum - thanks for the link. What was so great was that John said what all of us say - I don't think anyone could have put it better. Maybe that will get some attention.

Thank you, Chum. I was just about to post it, too. Thanks to Carol for reminding me about it too!!!

I loved it and am so proud of LCA!!!

I'm going to send it to my friends too with a list of lung cancer facts.

God bless y'all!

Carol, Thank you so muchfor the link. I e mailed MSN video to congratulate them on a job well done. I sure hope this is only the beginning of a lot more of the same.

Thanks so much for the video URL, Chum. This was one of the best presentations I've seen about lung cancer on TV. Kuddos to NBC and MSNBC for having this topic brought 'to the top'.

Thank you so much for the video. I just sent it to my email list. I did not come on too strong in my advocacy but since I am posting here, I have to let it out.... Why does the smoking have such a bad stigma...vs heart attacks from people who are obese, eat unhealthy, dont exercise.......or those with aids contracted from their lifestyle from drugs or other. I just dont get it! I will stop and there is no need to start it up again......but I feel better!
