The Day I Found Out - Stories of Cancer Survivors

0 Recommendations

Hello -

I did an interview in the early part of April for the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (Where I was treated) by my Oncologist Dr. Renato Martins. They built a website : http://www.thedayifoundout.com/#/videos It has my interview and many others with all different types of cancer.

WE ARE our own WORST critics...I realized that cancer aged me - OR it was the Chemotherapy - which turns out was NOT a spa treatment for looking younger. Oh well, I will wear my age with pride, because each day that I wake up and am alive - I have something to smile about. The wrinkles just give my smile more character.hahahahaha.

Love you - GOD BLESS -
Janet

I LOVE IT ! "Today cancer is a chronic disease" That is such a great statement and gives hope to a lot of people.

We all know that some cancers are not caught in time, but wouldn't it be wonderful if they could be?

You Look Marvelous !!
Much Love,
Marylou

Janet,

Thank you for posting the link & I agree with Marylou1...
You Look Marvelous!

who

Thank you Marylou and Who...It was a very emotional interview for me...I was 2 months out from surgery when I did it. I was all so fresh in my mind and heart. I couldn't imagine that through my tears they would actually get something to loop together for video.

Just so you know Who - thank you for a special moment I needed...you posted the free hug you-tube all the way back in 2008 and I needed just that tonight..God does work in mysterious ways...thank you for the breath I needed tonight.

GOD Bless
Janet

Janet - Thank you so much for sharing yours and other peoples videos. You, first of all look wonderful, secondly, was very inspiring to me. I keep fighting everyday but some days you do feel alone until you hear from someone else that is going through the same thing. Thank you for participating in the video and showing the emotional and courgeous side of cancer. God bless you and may you have a long life.

Honestly had I watched this a week ago it would of tore my heart out. I was so full of the " why couldn't my dad be a cancer survivor like others " BUT today I look at each of you & see my dad because each & everyone of you are fighters. I'm so happy to see people surviving this & yes it hurts that I lost my dad to it but it taught me so much too. My dad was 64 years old & yeah he's gone in body but he remains in my heart. I have an over whelming desire to do something with all that I learned by this I just don't know what yet. I do know one thing it may be a hell of a fight but I'm glad I found all of you to do it with.
Janet you looked beautiful & you are beautiful.
big huggs to all, Deb

Hello Everyone,

Thank you..Thank you for making my decision to do the interview the right one. I told my self that I wanted to be able to give hope to others...to make the journey hopefully less scarey for even 1 person. I searched for it and found it here with you all. At first reading all of the stories was scarey SCAREY...because people talking about how hard it was to lose someone, or to watch them go through all of this....It made me question if I would make it through it. Don't take that the wrong way - it was just that I had read TOOOOO many of the statistics on the internet before I found this site, so my mind was in the defeatest mode before I ever got started on the fight.

It has taken me a long time to be able to read those posts even to this day. It sometimes is better to live in bliss and be naive for a while during the fight, cuz once you get your gall up and become a mental warrior - you want to stay there because somehow - you become more invincable to the cancer and that is where I was the most happiest...I could function more...it was my HOPE. Survival isn't always for the fittest - it is for the BELIEVER, any age, any sex, any race.

GOD Bless, and I love you all
Janet
