STIMUVAX vaccine week 1

0 Recommendations

Hi guys,

So my mother got accepted into the phase III of this worldwide clinical trial. A few of you have emailed me to keep you posted on her status and what happens, how she feels etc. So I will be posting a little info each week for those of you who are curious about this potentially new vaccine. Week 1 (of 8) starts Friday where she will get a small one time low dose infusion of a chemo drug (cyclophosphamide) which apparently has been shown to increase the effects of Stimuvax to help the immune system work against the cancer. Then 3 days later on Monday she will come back for the first shot. The shot will happen every Monday for 8 weeks. Mom had to go through a bunch of tests (MRI, EKG and CT) before they let her into the trial. Pain in the ass but the good news is that the CT showed her mass is slightly smaller from her previous CT (in Sept)...so she is still stable and no new growths anywhere. I will keep you all posted. Renata

Hi: Thanks for taking the time to post this info. gene and sue

Thank you....We all are looking for something new that works.

Renata!!! This is wondefrful news, thanks for posting and please keep us updated. We are cheering her on! She is a true leader, she is not only doing herself a great thing by taking this, and also for helping the world, she is edoing this for research as well, and we have got to thank her from the bottom of our hearts for doing something like this. it is done for all of us. We need these drugs out for the public, and what better way then to get them approved by that FDA and out for us to take them.
Thanks to people like her who are not afraid of going the extra mile.
I am praying she does real well in this trial and is does get the actual vaccine.
God bless her
Sandy
