Pain

Cher, my sister developed pain behind her left breast that radiated to her shoulder plate. It too did not show about until 3 weeks after radiation. They told her it was pneumonitis. She finally got sent to a physcial therapist who has a massage therapist working on her. They tell her she has lymphadema and are working to help her with that. She has been in pain daily but they said she should feel a difference in about a week and 1/2. I hope so.

You should always keep your doctor aware of anything that is happening to you. It may be pneumonitis, but it still needs to be taken care of.
Good luck and take care, JC

Hi Cher,

I had radiation pneumonitis and you should call your Radiation Onc Doctor or Pulmonogist and let them know about the SOB. I also developed SOB when I had radiation pneumonitis. It's not fun and needs to be caught early. You can get radiation pneumonitis up to 6 months after completing your treatments.

Best wishes.
Connie
