Radio show dedicated to LC this afternoon

1 Recommendation

Wanted to let you know that an old friend of mine, who does a community radio show on talk radio in Houston, plans to discuss lung cancer on the show this afternoon. Take it easy on him, this is the first time taking on the topic for him, but if you have questions or comments, I think he'll offer the phone # during the show. I certainly appreciate his willingness to give this topic a shot.

It is today, at 3:00 p.m. EST/2:00 p.m. Central time.

Go to:
http://www.kikk.com/ (on the right side, you'll see CNN 650, radio news live...this is where you link to the live show).

Send him good vibes!

I should warn you that he'll probably hit hard on the non-smoking aspect (we all know that shocks people), so if he does, please don't take offense. Awareness is important, and understanding that the group is diverse is key to reducing the stigma.

Thanks.

I didn't catch it, how did it go?

I have done two different radio shows in Las Vegas over the last 7 months. I did both programs with my Onclolgist. I figured if they make a difference in 1 sole life....then I accomplished my goal.

Went well. The doc who was interviewed (a thoracic surgeon), did what you kind of expect surgeon's to do...deal with probabilties, so he focused very heavily on smoking cessation. My friend tried to get the topic opened up more into the diversity of the group, with limited success. An archived version will be available at the same address in a week or so.

At least the topic and the scope of the problem was put out there for a few more to think about.
