I had signed up but now have a ruptured tendon in my ankle/foot. Have a great time!!!

By the way, I'm guessing you live around Philly. What stage is your mom in & where is she being treated? I'm stage IV, am going to Fox Chase, was diagnosed last Dec., Have gone through the 3-cocktail chemo for 6 treatments, then Avastin (the tumors started to grow again according to my last CT scan 3 weeks ago), now am on Alimta (chemo again). Will get my 2nd infusion of Alimta on Monday.
Just wanted to give you a comparison for your Mom.
& - I intend to beat this. Hope your Mom is hanging in there. Let me know if I can help.
Love all of you fighters!!

I hope you do beat this. My mom is stage IIB. Her onc. is here in NJ, we really like her and that was very important to my mom. She has also been going to Fox Chase for surgery only. (which is scheduled for Nov17th) pending a possible biopsy for a new spot on her other lung. My mom was treated with 7wks of daily radiaiton, along with 7 weekly treatments of carbo/taxol. Revisited the surgeon and he scanned her and said she responded well to treatment. He saw a spot on the scan that he believed to be inflammation/scar tissue. He sent my mom for all of her lung function test, and a pet scan on thursday. The spot too a very slight uptake to the pet scan. Both he and the radiologist are not convinced this is cancer, but have scheduled a biopsy. In the mean time they gave her some meds to take because they think it is inflammation ( she is only 4wks out of radiaiton). On the 12th they will scan her, and hopefully it is gone, if not they will proceed with the biopsy. I am hoping and praying that this is not cancer, I really want her to be able to have this surgery.
