Pain from Neulasta

0 Recommendations

I just read a post that mentioned the pain from Neulasta shots. Our doctor accidently found something that helps. He said he doesn't know why it helps but it does. The morning you get the shot take a Claritin D. We found that the generic form did not work as well, and actually Mike took a Caritin D the day before and the morning of his Neulasta shot. It made a world of difference. It is VITAL that you take it a couple of hours before the shot. It doesn't help to take it after the shot.

As always, talk to your doctor before doing this.

Hope this helps at least one person.

Praying for a cure.

Yes, the chemo nurse who gave the shots told me the same thing. I forgot, and the last shot I had (a couple of months ago) gave me really bad pain. When I go back on chemo and Neulasta I will not forget!

When I was on Neulasta, I was already taking Claritin D everyday for allergies so for some reason it didn't work for my Neulasta pain,, but someone had posted about taking hyrdoxizine (antihistimine). I guess my body was too used to Claritin D so the hydroxizine worked great for me!
