Original Dx was small cell. Repeat scan after 3 cycles of treatment with carbo and epotoside showed increased tumor activity and had spread to more nodes.
Oncologist demanded second opinion on slides. Seems it may be mixed-cell. Needs big time change in treatment. News was devastating to say the least, but I'm wiling to give it all a second chance. After long discussion promised my partner, I give it all a third try too.
Due to my distance from my treatment centers, I have a nightmare in logistic problems if we do radiation in conjunction with the chemo. But I'm lining up volunteers and a possible driver for hire on some trips.
So wish me luck and good thoughts to all my fellow warriors.

I am wishing you the best of luck and sending you hugs - ((Nicci)).

Sandy frequently suggests that folks contact Rational Therapeutics. This company tests cancer cells to find out which drugs will work best. Here is a link to their site:

Thank you Merylee, you said it before I could get my fingers typing.
I also wanted to suggest that the American cancer society can be called to see if in your area they have volunteer drivers to assist you to getting to your treatments. I also had to travel over an hour each way and it was hard on me to drive that distance, so I lined up some volunteers in case I needed them, there are also houses which you can spend the night if it is bad weather, check with them and see what could be available to you in the event you need it.
These mistakes these doctors made on you, may end up being the life saver you are looking for, they are always trying different drugs on cancer patients, you may have lucked out and received one that is going to kill your cancer, I will pray that is the case.
God bless you.
Sandy
