the cold and hot sweats are all part of the cancer. I get them so bad at night i have to change my pj's and sheets and the back of my hair gets soaked. it sucks when you cant stop your body from sweating. I just have to let it run its course. nothing iv tried seems to stop it from happening.
I hate to say the sweats are normal with cancer. because nothing about cancer is normal.
I hope i can help a little.
and your not going crazy its the cancer thats the crazy thing.

My husband got them too. I don't know if it was the cancer or the treatment but he's not having them anymore.

My mom complains of bad night sweating. Part of cancer/treatment I guess. Mattress and pillow-protectors help keep those things from staining. She bought dark colored sheets to "hide" the stains on sheets.

My husband got night sweats before surgery and during the chemo. He hasn't had but a few since then.

We definitely think it has something to do with the cancer.

I had them too. Mine only came on at night, but they were absolutely drenching sweats. They went away about 1/2 way through my chemos.

Nothing seemed to stop them (more liquids, less liquids, diet choices, etc), but a fan made them tolerable.

I'm praying for your dad!

I had them too and my oncologist told me that each iv chemo causes a mini menopause of sorts......that even after menopause you still have some hormone and it throws you into another one.....

I also think it is chemo that does it and cancer too.

I got cold sweats all the time prior to being diagnosed. After diagnosed and I started receiving treatments I did not have them for a while but lately have been getting them again. The doctor reviewed the results and ended up changing my chemo treatment from Carboplastin and Taxol to Carboplastin and Gemcitabine. I don't know the results of this as of yet as I just received my first new treatment today, but he mentioned that if the body is disagreeing with this it may cause the sweats again as it is the body's way of fighting the illness. That is about all I have for you hope it helps in some way.
