Has anyone read the book "The Last Lecture"?

I just finished it and I would highly recommend it to anyone that has experienced or is experiencing cancer.

It gave some really wonderful insights into what it is like to fight a terminal diagnosis, which is helpful to the daughter of a man fighting lung cancer. My dad doesn't always want to talk about how he is feeling, so I think reading this book may have given me an idea on what is going through his mind.

Randy Pausch (the author) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He is incredibly optimistic, even when given 3-6 months to live. He has some great pieces of advice, and tells a wonderful story.

Just thought I would share.

Yes - almost everyone on this site knows of the book - you can also see the video on UTUBE - just google The Last Lecture. It was a wonderful example of courage and strength - I don't think I will be as strong and brave when I know my time has come - one can only hope. The day Randy passed was a very sad day for all of us that fight this fight. I am glad that you found his story - the video is very powerful.

I think Utube is better then the book. He has a couple on Utube.

He was an inspiration and always will be for me. My sister who died from lung cancer 21 years ago at the young age of 43 was a lot like Randy Pausch facing death and accepting death. I hope I can be just like them when my time comes.

Hugs,
Connie

I have it.He was a good friend and stayed in touch with folks, which I thought was a good part of his message. He didn't seem to really share down times. Its a very upbeat book.Andi B

I saw his speech on TV and was inspired. Thanks for reminding me how much optimism assists in the road we travel. Love, Judy
