No symptoms & on chemo

I don't post often but I log-in daily and read about what is going on with others. My prayers are with each of.

I feel so fortunate and almost guilty sometimes that I have had things relatively easy since my dx in 3-2007 IIIb. I have no symptoms of LC except some shortness of breath which is treated with Advair. My side effects from treatment are minimal in comparison to what I read from others and their caregivers.

My first line of treatment brought some response and after 3 months there was a new tumor in my upper right lung. I went on a trial of Tarceva with or without Avastin. I only got Tarceva and after 6 weeks there was something in my kidney that they thought were mets. I flunked the trial was taken off 12-19-07 - Merry Christmas.

In January I started Alimta and after 3 treatments things started showing response, they added Avastin after 6 Alimta only and I continue to show response. I am on a "drug vacation" right now and only receiving Avastin for 1 more treatment and then scans again.

I have heard there are people who continue to respond to Alimta for years - the longest patient, according to the drug reps is a woman who has had 60+ infusions with great response.

My question, is there anyone on this site that has had ongoing Alimta with continued response and favorable scans; if so, how many?

Thank you - miracle & blessings to all.
