Today, my dad received the worst possible news from last weeks pscan. the doctor informed us that the cancer has spread rapidly throughout his body. The pain, shortness of breath and everything else is not from the chemo but the cancer. He is going to get my dad into a novartis trial (bunch of letters and numbers... not sure what it is called) and explained that this cancer would not respond to tarceva. He gave my dad zoloft for his depression and something else for pain. It is a blur. PLEASE pray for my dad.

Tom,
I will certainly keep your dad and your family in my prayers. I know this iwas not the news you were expecting. I can only say, hopefully this trial will work for your dad but all you can do is be there for him.

Prayers for your father and your family. When it gets aggressive and doesn't respond to tx, it's an awful feeling. Any chance of getting a second opinion? I've heard of Novartis for MS,so I think it's just a wrong name you might have been given. I would try for a second opinion. Good luck and take care, JC

Methastasys treated with N-TENSE and chemo +radiation: the guy was stamped as finished and... in a few months after that, all the methastasys were gone, don't ask me how. GRAVIOLA is the name.

Thank you for all your prayers as it is such a relief to know that none of us are alone even if it feels that way. The drug i was speaking of yesterday is from Novartis and it is ASA404. is anyone familiar with this? In addition, as i understand it, there is a 50/50 chance of him actually getting it. Is there another name that has been given to this drug that i would be more familiar with?
