Just had my 'almost 1 year since surgery' CT scan and my wonderful friend NED came to visit again!!!! YIPPEE!!!!! AND I don't have to have another one for 6 months!!!!! Happy Dance and Happy Hour time for me!!! I wish I could send NED to all of you!

Since you are almost one year, you just about match where my husband is at. At nine months they told him that he could switch to every 6 month scans, but I convinced the doc to do one more in three months. After that I assume the doctor will want scans at 6 months. Did you have a scan every three months for the first year and now you are switching to every 6 months???

I just finished up my chemo/radiation a few weeks ago. I had a CAT scan and MRI today. I see the surgeon about whether I can have the surgery. Keep your fingers crossed!

I had my first CT 10 wks after surgery, so that was in Feb 08. I had chemo, done with that in May, so I had my next CT then. I was supposed to wait 3 months, but I got scared, so I had the next CT at the end of July. Then she (my thoracic surgeon) said four months was ok, so I had the next one today. Since they have all been good, and I travel from western Pennsylvania to Boston to get my scans, she felt that 6 months would be fine. (I see my thoracic surgeon because she specializes in women's lung cancer, and she works very closely with my onc. So I figure, why see the onc when my scans are clean.... if/when they aren't clean, then I will see the onc!!!).
Continued good luck to your hubbie! I will have a drink for EACH of you tonight!!!

Thanks for the info Erin. I hear you on the getting scared part. That's why my husband is having the next scan at three months instead of six. Maybe if the next scan is alright I'll be okay to let it go to six.
